The military, while a great place to grow and meet people, can also be a difficult place to establish roots; especially when you’re constantly picking up and moving every few years, or even months for those with spouses in school commands.

MyCAA scholarship gives spouses the ability to go back to school with a $4,000 scholarship cap (not to exceed $2,000 annually). It pays for tuition costs, examinations leading to an associate degree, certifications from an accredited college, university, or technical school.

This includes online courses.

I have personally benefited from this. After getting out of the military and realizing that the medical field was the path I wished to go down, I started looking into how much tuition would cost for various universities. College tuition is expensive, and is becoming more costly every year.
In order to make my dreams of becoming a Physician Assistant a closer realization, I went onto MyCAA and found that they would cover the costs for me to go to EMT school. The only items I paid for out of pocket were my books.

In order to benefit from this scholarship, you must go to MyCAA’s website and establish an account.
If you have any trouble navigating the website, there is a 1-800 phone number available where a certified career counselor will help you with any questions you might have, to include setting up your account and choosing a career path plan that’s appropriate for you.

Of course, like any program, there are some exclusions as to who can apply.
In order to qualify, you must be a spouse of a service member on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2.

This is a very condensed summary of what MyCAA can do for you. Make sure to visit the MyCAA website, and review the MyCAA websites fact sheet.

Not enough spouses know about this website and its advantages, so make sure to share, share, share!
